How does BMD 3D Printing work?

Bound Metal Deposition (BMD) is an innovative 3D printing technology that utilizes metal powders mixed with a polymer binder to create complex metal parts. The process involves heating and extruding a bound metal rod, depositing layers of the metal-polymer mixture onto a build platform, and then removing the polymer binder through debinding and sintering. BMD offers design freedom, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to produce intricate geometries, although it may have slightly lower mechanical properties compared to traditional metal manufacturing processes.

Nonetheless, BMD holds promise in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and medical, where lightweight and customized metal components are in high demand.
